This is a basic interactive virtual demonstration of each of the toolkit's major processes. The available collection of sample images will grow as the site matures.

The intent of this page is to teach you the details of each step and plugin necesary to operate the tool.

You must guide the toolkit through each step. The image and corresponding available options will change depending upon your choices. Some decisions will lead to better results than others, although this can oftentimes be a subjective process.

Original 24-Bit Color Image of the first well after 3 hours

Original 24-Bit Color Image of the first well after 3 hours

This image was taken February 2006 at Baer and Cox labs at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine. This image was one among hundreds. All images were grown with human embilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) on a Matrigel assay.

The images was taken as part of an experiment over two days by Dr. Rob Baer dealing with HUVEC growing in vitro in varying in Matrigel concentrations.

This image is from the first well at approximately 3 hours of development.

This image was from the same experiment as the image above, and it is from the same first well at approximately 24 hours of development.

This image was taken June 2005 from a different experiment at Baer and Cox labs. Notice that the vasculature is much less detailed than the newer experiments. The batch that was grown with these images was influenced by the presence of Cystatin C in an in vitro matrigel assay. Also the lighting correction was originally designed to compensate for these types of images.

This image was from the same experiment as the image above back in June 2005, but it is from a different well. The batch that this image was taken of was influenced by the presence of E64-D in an in vitro matrigel assay.
